The Australian Government’s $1.3 billion Modern Manufacturing Initiative (MMI) offers local manufacturers awards up to $20 million to commercialise great ideas, drive collaboration, reset supply chains and identify new opportunities for growth. This program, as part of the Modern Manufacturing Strategy, has identified six National Manufacturing Priorities that focus on areas of competitive advantage and strategic importance to Australia.
With three separate streams, each providing co-funding, the Modern Manufacturing Initiative aims to propel local goods and services into new markets solidifying Australia as a modern manufacturing leader. Since the Strategy’s launch in 2020, this program has created over 80,000 jobs and awarded hundreds of millions of dollars to successful applicants.
