Are you working to equip K–12 students, teachers, and staff with the tools to recognize, respond to, and prevent acts of violence? In anticipation of the next funding cycle, join Grants Office for a Grantscast® breaking down exactly what the Student, Teachers, and Officers Preventing (STOP) School Violence Program – a federal Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) grant competition – funds, who can apply, and how to build a proposal that stands out in a competitive field.
In this session, we'll cover:
· Program overview and funding categories
· Who is eligible, including states, localities, federally recognized tribal governments, nonprofits, and school districts
· What’s funded – training for staff/students/law enforcement, school threat assessment and intervention teams, anonymous reporting technology, and other school safety strategies that assist in preventing violence
· What’s not funded – target hardening equipment (cameras, security systems, fencing, locks, etc.) and the hiring of armed security officers or school resource officers, and where those needs can be funded instead
· Practical strategies to strengthen your proposal and align with agency funding priorities
This session is ideal for K-12 leaders, public safety partners, and grant professionals building a school safety funding strategy. All Grantscast® registrants will receive a FREE STOP School Violence Program Application Workbook.
